SMART-GenRec
Generic Reconciliation

The Generic Reconciliation module is an automated, enterprise-wide, generic reconciliation solution that facilitates the automatic reconciliation of a wide variety of message formats.

SMART-GenRec accommodates the capture of data in various formats from a variety of systems and can bind them at one of these reconciliation levels: one-to-one, one-to many or many-to-many.
Related data can be grouped into a ‘Service’ and any number of these can be set up. Input to SMART-GenRec can be composed of up to 99 fields (this may be a subset of the original data structure) with a maximum number of 1 billion records per file.

SMART-GenRec is parameterised to allow each service to reflect the user's internal environment with terminology and field descriptions that are customisable to convey familiarity to the users.  This flexibility extends to:

  • File and fields names
  • Field lengths and formats, such as date masks, display options, etc.
  • The ordering and sorting of records for display and reporting

A field can be defined as a date, a number, including a currency amount, or alphanumeric text. The requirements for reconciliation of a service can be specified from any combination of the extracted fields using a set of standard comparison such as equality, inequality, and summation with checking of the total.  Differences in the specifying fields are highlighted when viewing matched items.

Regardless of the volume, SMART-GenRec is optimised for the reconciliation of daily transactions.  Real-time input feeds and matching processes result in a high percentage of automatically confirmed items alongside potential matches and unmatched items presented in multi-user work queues.

Exceptional cases can be granted special attention by linking to the SMART-Resolve investigation module for further analysis.

Services must be set up to construct the definition of the field format or layout.  A “Service” is a set of two origins (for example your data and your correspondents’ data) having common fields that will be matched together. The setting of the fields to match, the names to display, types of data, formatting and positioning is flexible enabling extensive customisation of the service.
